GPRS/GSM/3G router

MRD-310

MRD-310The MRD-310 industrial mobile broadband router uses the Internet to cost effectively inter-connect systems, allowing HMI, PLCs, sensors etc to communicate with each other.

A compact case design with DIN-rail mounting clips and the wide power input range between 10 to 60 VDC make the unit well suited for industrial applications. Easy integration with other devices is achieved using the built-in two port Ethernet switch and the RS-232 D-sub.

The stability of mobile connections can be affected by various different parameters and in order to ensure constant connectivity the MRD-series features a connection manager.

The MRD-310 offers network protection from malicious eavesdroppers via encrypted communication tunnels (VPN), and features a simple, yet powerful, packet inspection firewall.

For solar powered applications energy efficiency is vital and the MRD-310 has a special low-power mode to only be fully powered when needed. The built-in serial port offers a simple modem replacement solution with the benefit of not having to reprogram or change legacy components during an upgrade.

MRD-350

MRD-350The MRD-350 industrial mobile broadband GPRS / EDGE / 3G router uses the Internet to cost effectively inter-connect systems, allowing HMI, PLCs, sensors etc to communicate with each other.

A compact design bundled with all interfaces and LEDs in the front make the unit extremely well suited for industrial applications. With isolation between the PSU and the Ethernet and serial ports the MRD-350 protects against issues caused by ground loops.

The dual SIM support in the device ensures that site connectivity is not dependent on a single carrier, should something happen the unit just switches to the other SIM.

Devices connected to the Internet require countermeasures towards cyber threats. The MRD-350 offers protection of transmissions from malicious eavesdroppers via encrypted communication tunnels (VPN), and features a simple, yet powerful, packet inspection firewall.

For solar powered applications energy efficiency is vital and the MRD-350 has a special low-power mode to only be fully powered when needed. The MRD-350 with its built-in serial port offers a simple modem replacement solution with the benefit of not having to reprogram or change any other component.

GDW-11 GSM/GPRS sími

GDW-11The GDW-11 is a modem designed to allow connection of legacy serial equipment over a GSM/GPRS network.
The AT command driven modem operates over the GSM/GPRS networks providing speed up to 14.4 kbit/s on GSM or 85.6 kbit/s when using GPRS.

The GDW-11 is designed for use in heavy duty industrial applications. The wide power range, galvanic isolation, guarantees communication in the worst environments.

Only industrial grade components are used which gives the GDW-11 an MTBF of 1,100,000 hours and ensures a long service life. A wide operating temperature range of –25 to +70°C (–13 to +158°F) is achieved with no moving parts.

The GDW-11 has been tested both by Westermo and external test houses to meet many EMC, isolation, vibration and shock standards, all to the highest levels suitable for heavy industrial environments and rail trackside applications.

The modem is simple to configure both by DIP switches as well as by the Westermo GD-tool software; standard commands can easily be entered, and saved configurations downloaded. RS-232 connections can be made using screw connections as well as the standard D-sub. The modem is designed to be connected to devices with no ability to control dialing so special functions like data dialing and DTR dialing are provided to enable these devices to automatically establish connections.
